A publishing phenomenon, the Boosh was the fastest selling hardback by Canongate up til 2009.
Mecob Art Directed the covers as in-house Art Director for Canongate that year, working with the excellent Dave Brown the Designer and integral part of the Boosh setup, performing as Bollo the Ape.
The eyes on this cover made it work across platforms beautifully. Lined up in a bookshop window they were something else.
For the paperback, without any new content we had to come up with something engaging to capture this fans who hadn’t purchased the hardback. Renamed The Pocket Book of Boosh, we put it in a pocket!
As part of a fantastic range of publishing in 2008/9, including Barack Obama’s paperbacks, Canongate scooped Independent Publisher of the Year, which Mark was very proud to be a part of.
Dave’s epic efforts on the books got well-deserved attention from Creative Review.
